Bowfield Hotel and Spa

Stayed in a lodge here for an anniversary weekend, Ben Nevis lodge. Really enjoyed our stay. Lodge was lovely, hot tub was great. Food and service in the restaurant top class and the two of us enjoyed the spa treatment. Overall there is absolutely nothing to complain about, would really recommend to anyone and I'd love to come back either for a meal or another stay in the future.

Booked last minute for an overnight in one of the lodges, 8th August. We were here in February for 2 nights and had a great experience. Once again, we loved our night away. Whole stay was just perfect. A very warm friendly welcome at check in by Vivian, and we didn't need to be shown how to work the hot tub. Lodge again was very well equipped, and the welcome basket went down a treat. Had three hot tub sessions, and really enjoyed relaxing in it. Breakfast was the expected high quality, and service was once again top notch. Very friendly and helpful. Didn't expect to be back so soon after our February visit, but could not resist the Bowfield Lodges. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the leisure centre, and my partner refused to let me have a shot on the soft play! (One day I will get a try) Thank you again for a lovely wee break.

We went for my niece's wedding, the bed rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable, the staff were all friendly and attentive, the soft play was perfect for the family and the swimming pool was amazing. Plenty of parking, lovely views when you walk around the grounds and stunning, intimate lodges up the back.

Celebrated my 50th birthday with family and friends at the Bowfield. Lovely welcome on arrival from David and all the staff. The room was lovely, bright, modern and the beds were extremely comfortable. I had a wonderful hot stones massage that I would strongly recommend - didn’t want it to end. Really sorry but can’t remember the lady’s name but she was so warm and friendly and put me at ease all the way through. I used the thermal suite, the pool and even had amazing cocktails brought to me in the outside jacuzzi- sheer luxury. Everywhere in the spa area was so clean and fresh and all the staff were so helpful and seemed really happy in their work which is a rare thing these days. We had an amazing meal in the restaurant at night. The roasted pepper and tomato soup was the best soup I have ever had and we all sent our complements to the chef. Used the pool again on the next morning - so relaxing and again all staff I came across were so eager to help. Breakfast was delicious and very relaxing. Staff were so attentive and never made us feel like a nuisance even though I was asking for a refill on my tea when breakfast was technically finished. Lovely goodbye from David and the team and we even had help out to the car with our luggage. Can’t wait to return - Thank you to all the team at Bowfield - keep doing what you’re doing

2 night stay in 1 on the lodges.. do not stay in the Ben lowers lodge as the view is restricted with trees.. first impressions was the dirty windows on arrival in lodge… Curtain rail fell down first day and did not get fixed until the next day even though we reported this at 6 pm so we had to spend the first night with no privacy?? Also no sleep the first night due to hot tub making a noise that passes through the lodge the 2 nd night I had to go into the electrical box outside and switch off completely? Dinner at the Plumpy duck was a really bad experience with 1 hr 30 min wait for our dinner to arrive???.. we booked dinner bed and breakfast this is our 4th visit to the bowfied and first time staying in the lodges we will not be back.. really disappointed as we only stay 30 mins from here not sure what has happened in the hotel but got the impression the staff are not interested considering this cost us about £600 all in for a 2 night stay..

We had such a relaxing 2 night stay in lochnagar lodge for our wedding anniversary. The lodge is beautiful so comfortable and has everything you need. The hot tub is especially nice touch and the views are fantastic, even in the rain. The meal at the Plumpy Duck was fantastic and the staff so friendly and attentive. While staying we also had a couples spa day with Prosecco afternoon tea. What an incredible experience in the Aura Spa the hero package was just amazing and so relaxing then being able to spend time using the spa facilities was just a perfect end to the day. We then went for our afternoon tea which we couldn’t finish but were able to box up and take back to our lodge. This was a perfect relaxing spa break and we cannot wait to come back

Where do I even begin?! I had my wedding at this outstanding venue last week and it was exceptional. The service from ALL members of staff was second to none and every staff member always asked if we needed anything and made the few days so personal. From Orla in the restaurant, Vivienne on reception, John the night porter and of course the extraordinary wedding team- everyone made an effort to speak to us and make sure we were having a wonderful day! We came down the morning of the wedding and the wonderful night porter had set up a wonderful breakfast for us in the side room of the ceremony which was so beautiful and unexpected- he then checked in with us when he came back for night shift that night which was lovely! The whole run up to the big day from months to days before, the wonderful wedding team were in superb communication and always ensured if there was anything else they could do. Sorry Shelbie for the thousands of emails you are a gem. On the day Audrey was exceptional I can’t believe what an absolute asset to the whole manor view company. She was there for me, my husband and all of my guests for anything they needed and the day ran smoother than I could’ve ever dreamed of. The food at the Plumpy Duck, Breakfast and of course the wedding meal was SUBLIME. All our guests had the same rave reviews of the food and it was honestly delicious- kudos to the fantastic chefs! We stayed in the Semple Suite for 2 nights and it was so comfortable and spacious and was lovely! Thank you to all of you for making this the most amazing experience, words can’t begin to describe our gratitude for the wonderful Bowfield team!

We were looking for a wee overnight stay and ended up finding a 2 night deal with the Bowfield Hotel which gave us £100 credit. As soon as we arrived on the Monday night the person in reception (sorry I forgot her name) was so lovely and welcoming and nothing was too much hassle. We needed salt later on as I forgot contact lense solution and she was more than happy to help. We ate breakfast both days in the Plumpy Duck restaurant as well as lunch and dinner one day. For the breakfasts and lunch we were served by Evonne who was also lovely, chatty and helpful. The breakfast we had on the first day, lunch and dinner was all excellent as were the cocktails we tried. The tables were very spaced out and the atmosphere was very relaxing and peaceful. We used the swimming pool/jacuzzi/sauna faculties several times throughout our stay. They were quite busy even at 8:30pm on the first night but this is to be expected given that people outwith the hotel could use the facilities too. My only slight criticism of the pool would be that the divider up the pool made it quite hard to swim if there were 6 people already in the pool swimming lanes. And a woman took her toddler and baby in the jacuzzi kind of ruining the relaxing spa vibe but that isn't the hotel's fault. The hotel room was lovely and clean with a very big shower and comfy bed. The towel rail came on at night and we couldn't get it off so the room got very toasty so I'd recommend leaving your windows open. We are only 20 mins away but definitely will be coming back. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay.

Had originally booked the Gleddoch but got a refund due to issues so was looking for somewhere else in the area to stay and ended up opting for the Bowfield. From the moment of booking to the moment I left, it was amazing. Zero hassles, welcoming staff, great rooms, amazing sleep, fabulous facilities, half the price of the Gleddoch hence great value. I ended up buying vouchers for Spa experiences for family members which is something I would usually never do but I knew they would be in good hands once I drove back down South. Seriously, if ever in the Glasgow area, stay here due to how handy it is for the area and the experience you will have. Truly incredible.
